Anime Club: Where Students Relax, Watch Anime, Meet New People

David Torres, Staff Writer

Anime Club is a club where students can relax, watch anime and meet new people that have the same common interest.

Club adviser Adam Rudar, aware of the misconception about anime, says, “ Anime is for all age groups and really encompasses all the hand-drawn and computer-drawn shows and movies.”

Rudar became adviser of the club because ” a lot of students wanted to create a club since a lot of my students knew I watched anime. They were able to convince me.”

Mr. Rudar started to watch anime when his brother would watch Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball Z.

The club continues to grow bigger year by year.

“There are 54 people on my list for this year’s club. We could not fit all of those people in one room,” Rudar said.

You know, it is great to improve every year, but I really count success as students getting to enjoy and discuss anime. We have talked about doing new things with food and encouraging people in their artwork,” he added.

The president of Anime Club is junior Willis Guo. He plans to bring Japanese culture into the mix, such as snacks like Pocky and a beverage that is called Rumne.

“We are a different club. We chill, watch anime and enjoy drinks and snacks,” Willis said.

“If a lot of the student body liked the sword and the helmet that I made, the student body can expect more for next year,” Willis said.
