Two Engaged Teachers Getting Ready for Big Day

Two NDA teachers are getting ready for one of the most important days of their lives, their wedding day.

English/social studies teacher Holly Strong and science teacher Rachel Weier are both engaged and could not be more excited for their big day.

The two are at completely different stages in their engagements. Strong has been engaged for around ten months while Weier has been engaged for less than a month.

Strong said she is most excited for “our future together and knowing that we always have each other.”

Weier answered the same question in a similar manner, saying she is most excited for “all of the little things and having all of the time they want together.”

Weier’s fiancé, John Weirich, currently lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, and she most looks forward to their being able to be together on a daily basis.  Of course, as she says, they do not yet know which one of them is going to move.

Strong’s fiance, Justin Hinch, is from Pulaski and works locally.

Hinch proposed to her in his kitchen before they left for a dinner date at Hinterland. NDA senior Adam Roitstein took a picture for them at their dinner that night.

Strong said her favorite attribute about Hinch is “the fact that he always supports me.  Even when I’m having a bad day, he is there and makes me laugh and feel loved.”

Weier’s engagement moment was more public. Her fiancé took her to a piano room in a public library in St. Paul, played the song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, and then popped the question. Since they had been dating for over four years, she “sort of” expected him to one day propose to her.

Weier mentioned that her favorite attribute about Weirich is “the way he cares for other people, not only me, but everyone he is close to. No matter what he is doing, he will drop it to help someone he loves.”

Strong has her wedding date set for June 23 of this year, but Weier is not sure when their wedding will be.

Right after the wedding Strong and Hinch will be honeymooning in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  Though no plans are set for their wedding date or honeymoon, Weier mentioned she looked forward to traveling and would enjoy “going somewhere internationally” on their honeymoon.

Both Strong and Weier are more than overjoyed to be engaged and cannot wait to see what life will be bringing next.
