Kairos, one of Notre Dame’s most meaningful spiritual retreats, offers students a unique opportunity to slow down, reflect, and strengthen both their faith and friendships. Friday, October 31, is the deadline for applications.
“Kairos is a time to reflect and grow in one’s personal relationship with God while also forming lifelong friendships with people you would normally never talk to,” said Fr. Jordan, NDA’s chaplain who organizes the retreat with Campus Minister Kelly Watters.
The optional retreat for juniors and seniors will take place on November 19-20 at the Wynncliff Retreat Center on Lake Michigan near Manitowoc.
“Kairos” is the Greek word for “time.”
“If you give God some of your time, He will give you enough time,” he explained. “We know more about ourselves when we know more about God.”
The purpose of Kairos is to encourage students to retreat from the busyness of life and to disconnect from distractions.
“Students will discover what they are truly hungry for,” explained Fr. Jordan.
During the retreat, participants will spend their time talking, sharing meals, playing games and praying together.
The focus is on building genuine connections and taking time to reflect on their relationships with God.
Applications for Kairos are due on Friday, October 31, along with a $100 registration fee. Financial support is available if needed.
For students considering attending, Fr. Jordan offers simple but meaningful advice.
“Going is an act of trust,” he shared.
