Senior Reflection: Verdegan Appreciates NDA Experience

Jameson Verdegan, Staff Writer, Advanced Journalism

Graduation is less than a week away here at Notre Dame. The excitement is rising and summer is just around the corner!

The thought of going into high school four years ago was awesome. The first time being a part of Notre Dame was the early summer right after 8th grade graduation going into the summer lifting program for football. I liked everything about it and was excited to be there.

Starting off freshman year I was a three-sport athlete and quickly realized it was much harder in high school.  Football, basketball and track were the three sports, and I knew I wasn’t going to be in basketball much longer. Sophomore year I went down to only two sports,  football and track.

Notre Dame was a great experience, and I am glad I got to meet so many great people and lifelong friends. Coming into Notre Dame I wasn’t at all nervous, just anxious and excited. Notre Dame is everyone’s home away from home, as Mr.Pauly would say.

As a freshman I got used to things around the school pretty quickly. As you go through high school you realize that the friendships you build will last the rest of your life. With sports, for example, there was nothing better than a game under the lights on a Friday night. I’ll remember that forever.

In high school you meet many people that are willing to help you succeed and help you get where you need to be in life. Looking back at high school, it was a lot of fun, and I’m  glad I got to spend it here at NDA.
