The 2015 golf season has started for the Notre Dame boys golf team. Senior Jack Ritchay, junior Robert Petitjean and junior Ethan Diestler led the team to first place in the opening meet. The team took first place out of ten teams.

Senior Jack Ritchay said, “I’m really excited to get back to state to redeem ourselves.” Last year the team lost by one stroke at state.

The team has its next meet at Blackwolf Run, and they hope to do well again. For the past eleven years Notre Dame has been conference champs. They plan on achieving that goal again, bu,t more importantly, get back to state and win it.

The team uses other teams’ scores around the state as motivation to get better.

“It’s exciting getting back out there with the team again for one last time,” said senior Jack Petermann. “We will just continue to get better and work hard to get after our goals.”

Ritchay shot a 77 and took first individually. Petitjean shot a 78, and junior Ryan Konop had a hole in one and shot a 82.

Math teacher Brian Bobinski coaches the squad.
