Autumn Klemencic is one of the few girls at Notre Dame Academy to compete in girls hockey.

When season starts for the Ice Bears, Klemencic takes over the ice. Klemencic tallied 10 goals in regular season and five goals in playoffs.

Klemencic is going into her final year as an Ice Bear.

As a senior, Klemencic states that she looks forward to being a leader on and off the ice, creating bonds with new teammates, and going back to the state tournament for her final year.

Klemencic is not only a leader on the local girls hockey team Ice Bears but also a leader of the 18U Wisconsin Select team.

Klemencic traveled to Boston, Maine, to compete in the best tournament of the year. ”Not everyone gets to experience it, but I did,” Klemencic said.

“Our team placed third. I remember smiling so much for all the pictures because we were so excited,” she added.

Klemencic got many assists during her games when playing. ”Highlight of my life, biggest tournament you can play in at my age, it’s the biggest deal.”

Klemencic described Boston as an upscale version of Chicago and added,  “I had the best seafood ever in my entire life.”

Klemencic also toured Harvard University while spending time in Boston. Klemencic has not yet decided where she would like to attend nor if she would like to play hockey in college.

“I love to play hockey and I love all the girls I play with. I never would’ve met my best friend Maddie Gibson.”
