“Astronomer”

Jack Mickelson, Contributor, The Muse

I used to think that the world revolved around me

When I rode in a car, the sun and moon would follow me

Like two guardians, watching over their most precious treasure

The sun would provide the heat, and the moon would provide a very special glow

But now when I ride in a car, with the sun or moon in the sky

I learn that I was so very foolish

For I used to think that the sun and moon would follow me

I thought they were chasing me

But now I know, that I am chasing them
