Happy Mother’s Day, Moms!
May 12, 2019
(For Mother’s Day, I decided to write a poem as a tribute to mine and all of our mothers.)
Mom, I can’t begin to express how thankful I am for you
No matter what I’m going through, I have you to hold my hand through it all
You give me the best advice, even when you know I’m not going to listen
You help me learn through my mistakes, never with a hint of judgement
You forgive me after these mistakes, even when I don’t feel like I deserve it
You let me rant about the smallest problems, always making it known that you care
You always offer your shoulder to cry on, no matter how busy you are
You still offer a place in your bed when I have a nightmare or can’t sleep
You support me in everything I do, whether it be a sporting event or a performance
You have spent countless hours driving me to school and friends’ houses
You have made countless sacrifices to help me achieve my dreams
You make sure I have food on the table and clothes on my back
You make me soup when I’m sick and do whatever is needed to help me recover
You pay each year for me to have the best education I can get
You pray for me, always asking God to take away my pain
Even when you’re not in the same city, you call to hear about my day
You never ask me for anything in return
You never make me feel like a burden
I know that sometimes we fight, and our relationship still has room for improvement
I know I may not be the easiest child, and I have a lot of personal improvement to do
But I know that you will always be there for me
And I love you unconditionally
Thank you for being the best mother I could ever ask for
