This past Monday the Notre Dame Academy choir performed a Sacred Choral Concert in the NDA chapel.
The music consisted of gospel, classic worship and even a Spanish lullaby.
“It was a very uniting experience. I know we all had fun with it,” said Lily Gretzinger, a member of the choir who performed.
Choir teacher Maria. Hinnendael put this together along with the help of the theology teachers. Hinnendael spread the word to them, and many teachers offered extra credit to students who attended the concert.
This effort raised numbers and the turnout for the concert.
“I really enjoyed the incorporation of interacting with the crowd,” said Peyton Musial about her thoughts on the concert.
Hinnendael put this concert together in “appreciation for sacred choral music.”
“Sacred choral music is inherently very beautiful. I wanted the students to have the opportunity to work with it,” explained the choir director.
The planning for the concert began in September. The future plan is for there to be more each year. Hinnendael even hopes to hold a sacred choral concert at the St. Norbert Abbey.
