Each December students eagerly search for a little elf named Tucker who is hidden in unexpected spots around the school.
Math teacher Bryan Konshak started the festive tradition in 2016.
Tucker originally belonged to one of his students who had two elves at home because they lost one and got a replacement.
“This inspired me to start my own tradition, leading to me purchasing Tucker from the student,” he explained.
The tradition kicks off when Saint Nick arrives on December 6, but due to finals being earlier Tucker made his appearance on Monday of last week.
To participate in the holiday scavenger hunt students must find Tucker, take a selfie with him, and submit it via email to Konshak with “Tucker the Elf” in the subject line.
“There are no additional actions required once you find Tucker. You just leave him where he is,” said the math teacher.
Once Konshak receives students’ pictures, he submits students’ names in a raffle to receive a prize.
“The more times you play, the better your chances are of winning, as I randomly assign numbers to the entries,” he explained.
The annual event has brought joy to students for years and has encouraged them to embrace the holiday spirit.
