Twenty-three NDA students left last week Wednesday to go to Washington DC for the national March for Life.
Father Jordan and Dr. and Mrs. Scott Hunt served as chaperones for the long trip to Washington DC.
“The whole trip was fun, and it made me stronger in my faith as I witnessed all the other people marching for the same cause – to save the unborn babies,” said junior Regan Gosa.
She would recommend this trip to anyone interested.
“I had a few takeaways: stand up for what is right even if you are standing alone, share your faith whenever possible, and appreciate every experience,” said Gosa.
She thinks she made an impact on the people around her, and the people around her also made an impact on her.
“Since we all had common beliefs, I could have interesting conversations with the people around me about why they believe what they believe,” she added.
Junior Irene Ertman followed up on that aspect of the trip: “Hearing all the stories of those who might not have been born and seeing all they’ve made of their lives made me appreciate my own chance at life. Being there reminded me that all life is an incredible gift.”
Along with participating in the March for Life, students also had the opportunity to go and sightsee some of Washington DC’s popular sights.
They visited the Holocaust Museum, which Gosa described as “very informative, but very sad at the same time.” It really showed the majority of people that were affected.
The participants also got to see the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and the World War Two Memorial.
They also experienced Mass at the Basilica.
“The March for Life trip was an experience which helped me realize more deeply the priceless value of every human soul. The Mass at the Basilica was majestic,” said junior Leo Muller.
