Kelly Waters, campus minister at NDA, has been married to her husband Jacob Waters for four years.
Waters met her husband on Match.com, and the moment they connected, they both knew it was meant to be.
“We knew we were ‘the one’ for each other the very first time we met,” Waters explained.
After dating for around six and a half years, the couple married on June 13, 2020, when parishes were just reopening, and the reception could include only 50 guests. They were both 38 when they got married.
They have many shared interests like food, sports, travel, and, most importantly, their family.
When asked about her marriage, Waters explained, “We balance one another out.”
Waters’ faith plays a big role in their marriage. The couple prays together daily and discusses how to integrate God into their lives. Her husband even converted to Catholicism last fall.
“We aren’t perfect, but we are perfect for each other,” Waters said.
The couple both grew up in Wisconsin and plan to stay until retirement, which Waters says is around 15-20 years away. Her step-children also have family in the South, so the couple will spend some of their retirement in the South and also in Wisconsin.
