Soccer Coach Michael Prudisch Marries in October; Wife a Soccer Coach at SNC

Another familiar face, Mr. Michael Prudisch, soccer coach and science teacher, was married this past October 19 at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Sugar Bush, Wisconsin.
He married fellow soccer enthusiast Sarah Prudisch who played soccer for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and is now a goalie coach for the St. Norbert’s women’s team.
They met through mutual friends in college, Michael being from the Madison area and Sarah from right outside of Green Bay, in Luxemburg.
“The funny thing is that I actually was friends with her younger sister first,” said Prudisch. “I went to UW-Platteville and played soccer there and met Sarah’s younger sister who also played soccer there and we became friends.”
“It wasn’t until a year later, when another friend of mine (who also played soccer at Platteville) texted me saying that she was going to set me up with this girl in her vet tech program. Sure enough I recognized her last name and fortunately Sarah’s younger sister put in a good word for me and we started talking from there,” he said.
As far as their engagement went, they became engaged in August 2018 and started on their guest list right away.
“That was before I really knew anyone here at Notre Dame because I didn’t start teaching here until a couple weeks after we got engaged,” said Prudisch. “She has a huge family (12 aunts and uncles) and our list got up to 400 people, so unfortunately we kept it to family and close friends.”
Outside of soccer Sarah works at the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center in Appleton as a veterinary technician and enjoys crafting, hiking and playing with their dog, Dazzle.
Prudish looks forward to starting their lives together as husband and wife.
“We are in the process of buying a house, we go on our honeymoon to Costa Rica over winter break, and we’ll be trying to start a family within the next year,” he said. “I’m just looking forward to going through all of that with my new wife.”
