The Fall Fest dance will take place October 7, and Fall Fest Week will follow October 16-20 with fun activities and dress-up days.
“Fall Fest Week is the major source of planning right now for student government,” said Sra. Crystal Dory, Spanish teacher and student government adviser.
The week will include dress-down days with fun themes, special events at lunch, The Great Battle (TGB) competition and live assembly in the auditorium, and the girls’ flag football, known as PowderPuff, on the Tuesday night of Fall Fest Week.
“TGB has been meeting on Wednesday and Thursday mornings for the past three weeks to plan this fun event that involves competitions during Fall Fest Week with Advisories and a student body assembly on the Friday of Fall Fest week,” said Dory.
Every year the competitions get bigger and bigger with a secret intro video and theme.
“Just wait to see what we have in store for you,” shared Dory.
Frau Laasksonen always has something different to bring to the table every year.
“I am never sure what will be new. I really depend on the creativity of the students in student government to think of ways they want to leave their mark, so stay tuned, you never know what you may see,” she said.
If any students have ideas on what they would like to see, bring them to a student government member or advisor.
“After all, we are all responsible for making the school and school year what it is,” said Frau, who is the adviser for the executive board of student government.
Freshman class elections are also in the books and set for the first week of October.
“Listen to morning announcements and check the written announcements for all the details coming from Frau,” said Dory.
Food Truck Friday, Cornhole Tournaments, and Spring Week are also being thought about and planned, although the main focus right now is the Fall Fest dance and Fall Fest Week.
