Friday, Oct. 4, Notre Dame Academy will host Harvest Fest, an afternoon event where students can participate in a variety of games as well as arts and crafts.
Special food items, such as walking tacos and apple chimichangas, will also be available.
This celebration usually takes place in spring and is called De La Baie Fest, but due to the NFL draft being held in Green Bay, “it just didn’t work with the tight schedule,” explained Student Activities Director Jen Laaksonen.
The event is being held in fall only this year and will have some new activities as well as regulars from De La Baie Fest.
The Chinese Club is hosting a ping pong tournament, the pep band is playing, 14 teams are signed up to compete in dodgeball, Drama Club has a costume contest, Writers’ Union is hosting a Kahoot-type game, and many more events will fill the commons and library.
“Stay and look for something, and you will find something you want to do. This will build community and make connections among students,” said Laaksonen.
Harvest Fest precedes the annual Fall Fest dance on Saturday night, NDA’s biggest dance with around 500-600 students in attendance. It is a concert style dance, explained Laaksonen, and traditionally somewhat formal.
