College Counselor Becky Bain and Ms. Brianna Rockwood, also from Student Services, accompanied a large group of juniors and seniors to the Wisconsin Education Fair at Saint Norbert College on September 25.
Fifty NDA students joined thousands of other students from around the state at this annual event.
The WEF showcased over 100 universities, tech colleges, military branches and specialty schools.
Upon arrival at Saint Norbert, students entered the gymnasium where each college had its booth set up. Students were encouraged to walk around and gather more information by speaking to the reps.
This event was a good way for students to gain knowledge about post-high school opportunities and begin to narrow down their college search.
“It was also a good chance for students to practice networking skills and make connections that could be beneficial when applying,” explained Rockwood.
“Going to the education fair helped me understand what I was looking for in a college academically and socially,” said junior Stella Starry. “It helped me see the pros and cons and limit it down to what colleges I was truly interested in.”
Bain and Rockwood were pleased to hear that the Notre Dame student group, which was the biggest that has attended this event in the last 10 years, was very respectful to the reps and other students who attended and that they enjoyed what the event had to offer.
Bain added, “(NDA students) left with their bags packed full of college viewbooks, folders, and glossy college flyers.”
