Notre Dame’s sophomores will have the chance to participate in a three day mission trip in Chicago organized by Campus Ministry.
The mission trip will take place on January 3-5.
“Students will have the opportunity to work with a group of sisters and perform acts of service that will count towards their 15 required social justice hours,” said Director of Campus Ministry Kelly Waters.
Open to approximately 15 students, this mission trip marks a new collaboration between the Sisters and NDA.
The location is also different from previous years.
”This is a new location, but students have always enjoyed the trip in the past,” said Waters.
Students will be staying in the Carmelite Spiritual Center Center in Darien, Illinois.
Father Jordan and Waters will be chaperones for the trip.
Applications for the trip are available outside the Campus Ministry office.
Students have until 3:15 p.m. on November 4 to sign up and will have to pay a fee if accepted.
“If students cannot afford the cost, they can come to me, and we can work something out, “ said Waters.
She encourages anyone who can to not hesitate to apply and ask questions if needed.
