Senior Nicholas Gruesen won the crown in Saturday night’s 29th running of the Academy Awards. Mr. NDA sang and tap danced to “Singing in the Rain” for his talent performance.
First runner-up was junior Tommy Chosa who did the SNL “tight pants” routine with A. J. Broullire. Second runner-up was senior Amelia Chrudimsky who sang with her “boy band” friends.
Gruesen was also voted Mr. Congeniality by his fellow contestants and key people working the show all week before the event.
Mrs. Holly Hinch, one of the show coordinators, told the contestants, “I’m so proud of all of you–great show, but more importantly, everyone was so fun to be around.”
Another adviser, Mrs. Sarah VanGrunsven, concurred: “What a fun week. It is my favorite week/day of the year.”
