Notre Dame Academy’s fourth De-Stress Fest took place on Friday, December 6, in the Alumni Gym.
The event’s goal was to help ease students’ nerves and anxiety before upcoming finals.
A variety of stations were available, including temporary tattoos, puzzles, therapy dogs, massage chairs, popcorn and a mural. Students were allowed to go during their study hall.
NDA started this event four years ago after Ms. Ciera Gerl saw a video on TikTok of a high school doing a similar event. Since then Student Services has organized and coordinated the event before first-semester final exams.
Many students attended, but there were two stations that stuck out to them–the temporary tattoos and the therapy dogs.
“My favorite part is the tattoos,” said junior Max Pierce. Nick Gruesen, senior, concurred, saying, “The tattoos are sweet.”
“My favorite part is definitely the dogs,” said freshman Hannah West. Quinn Blom, sophomore, said the same thing.
“It’s a great idea,” added Mr. Adam Rudar, social studies teacher. “I can tell that all the students are enjoying it.”
Some teachers volunteered to help staff members from student services during their prep periods.
All in all, the goal to ease students’ nerves with this fun day was a success.
