The second-semester blood drive has been rescheduled for March 3. This time, instead of the traditional gym setup, the drive will be held out of mobile units.
The drive will be run through the Community Blood Center, a blood donation center in Green Bay. This is a change from previous years due to wanting to find more positive experiences during a blood drive.
Students who are donating blood should go to the atrium, check out, and then head to the buses to start the process. The buses will be located directly outside the main doors in the staff parking lot.
The drive is held all day with sign-ups starting around 10 am.
You must be 16 or older to sign up. Participants who are 16 should fill out a parent consent form.
Blood drives and donating blood are crucial as a community member.
“You can save lives! Truly, each donation can save up to three lives,” said Campus Minister Kelly Waters.
Waters makes it apparent that you can save the lives of many people such as accident victims, cancer patients, surgery patients and victims of natural disasters.
“You save three lives every time you donate blood. Only 3 percent of able people donate blood, and if we could get that number to 4, we could solve the blood shortage,” said Walter Lulloff, a member of Notre Dame Academy’s ASTRA service club.
