Green Bay will host the 2025 NFL Draft, and one NDA alum, now a senior at the University of Minnesota, is turning heads with his plan to connect visitors to the city with local businesses.
Jack Christensen and Luke Rexing, also at the University of Minnesota, have been featured on local television stations for their innovative idea.
Their project, MyDraft Experience, is a booklet filled with special discounts and promotions from bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and other businesses all around Green Bay.
The physical booklet, which is available for pre-order at mydraftexperience.com, was made to give both locals and people from out of town an insider’s guide to Green Bay and its surrounding areas, including Appleton.
“We are excited to announce we have 32 partnering businesses in the MyDraft booklet, offering their deals from April 18 through April 30,” said Christensen.
“We found most of our partners by going door to door, promoting our experience and asking if they would like to participate. Since then, we have been going back to visit in person in order to collect photos and videos to promote on our social media leading up to the booklet’s dates.”
The idea was sparked during Thanksgiving break when Christensen, reflecting on the upcoming NFL Draft, asked himself, “How can I leverage the opportunities the NFL draft will bring to test my passion of becoming an entrepreneur?”
Maya Christensen, junior at NDA, explains, “My brother has always had an entrepreneurial brain and always comes up with different ideas. However, when he started talking about this idea, he had a different attitude. I could tell that he was serious about this.”
Inspired by the concept of bar crawls, Christensen realized Green Bay had many local businesses that deserved more attention. This gave him the idea of a booklet featuring exclusive deals which later became MyDraft Experience.
To bring the idea to life, Christensen turned to his college friend Rexing, who is a business student just like Christensen, and has experience in sales.
Together they started developing the idea and contacting local businesses.
This project also features a different element . After brainstorming with Rexing, Christensen decided to partner with Curative Connections, a nonprofit organization supporting individuals facing aging, dementia and disabilities.
A portion of MyDraft’s revenues–10 per cent– will go to the charity, making the idea even more impactful.
When contacted by the Online Tritonian, Christensen said, “We are excited to pursue this venture and learn the essentials of entrepreneurship. I would love for any reader who wants to take advantage of great deals and enjoy some fantastic local businesses to head over to mydraftexperience.com and purchase their booklet. Any engagement we can get on our Facebook and Instagram @MyDraftExperience, whether it is commenting or sharing our page, would be greatly appreciated.”
The booklet is a physical booklet, about the size of a passport, and will be shipped to those who have ordered online.
With the NFL Draft only two months away, Christensen and Rexing are finalizing partnerships, receiving pre-orders, and preparing for the big event. They’re excited to offer visitors a taste of Green Bay’s local scene while supporting a great cause.
