Senior send-off efforts for this year’s post-graduation event are underway. Alumni Coordinator Eliza Campbell has begun working on the upcoming newbie class of alumni.
Senior send-off will take place May 24 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. here at Notre Dame Academy. The send-off is open to all 2025 graduates.
The event is meant to be an end-of-the-year celebration for seniors to acknowledge their four years of hard work. It is not only meant for fun but also prevents post-graduation activities that can be potentially dangerous.
It is a controlled and safe event environment with parents, guardians and even some teachers in attendance.
The theme for this year’s send-off is “Luau.” Seniors should expect activities and games correlating with the theme. Events this year include henna, human chess, poker, virtual reality, roulette and many more activities, including special prizes and give-aways.
Seniors should expect a fun busy night with the rest of their class.
“Like anything in high school and in life, if you come in with a positive attitude, you will have fun,” said Campbell on how to truly enjoy senior send off and its events.
Even though the event is not until the end of the school year, forms were sent out in recent weeks for seniors to purchase their shirts. The senior send off shirts serve as the students’ tickets to the event.
Shirt designs were open for the seniors to choose.
With Campbell serving as liaison, the senior send off is parent-sponsored and coordinated.
“I believe the parents and the students look at this event as ‘my turn’ and how are we going to make it awesome,” added Campbell.
Veteran teacher Carolyn Brown attends the event every year because “it’s so much fun seeing the seniors enjoying each other after the tension and hype of graduation. In some ways it’s their last time to all be together at NDA.”
