On March 22, the student body gathered in the Triton Center to celebrate the defending Boys Hockey State Champions with a Pep Assembly format.
Father Jordan kicked off the Assembly with prayer and turned it over to NDA President, Mr. Tom Kiley.
In an email exchange with Hockey Head Coach Szkodsinski, the President quoted the coach as saying,“‘The boys learned to trust as the season went on,’”
Mayor Eric Genrich then spoke and signed off on 3-22-2024 as Notre Dame Academy Boys Hockey Day in Green Bay.
The special moments continued as Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach announced, “Brown County authorizes one million dollars for new ice at Cornerstone Ice Arena.”
Next, Principal Andrea Hearden thanked the parents for “driving these boys to the rink at the crazy hours you do hockey.”
“These boys” were second in the state with a GPA of 3.77.
“I’d like to thank Bobo and appreciate having him in the building. We have been good friends for a while,” said Szkodsinski.
Coach McCracken set up the foundation for this team, and Szkodsinski is “proud to continue it.”
In the end, after the recognition and praise of the state-winning hockey team, the NDA community celebrated Girls Basketball and their run at State.
“Girls Basketball won 114 games and lost 5. Won 3 Gold Balls and a Silver Ball for runner-up,” said Mike McKenna, legendary announcer of NDA.
Gracie Grezsk, Trista Fayta and Peyton Musial then saw their names added to the leading scorers posted on the gym wall.
