Senior Charlie Hornacek recently committed to the University of Minnesota Duluth, Division II, to play football and to pursue academics.
“I chose Duluth because they have great football, good academics and a beautiful city,” said Hornacek.
Academics are important to Hornacek. As of right now, he plans to major in professional sales.
Hornacek had a tough decision to make regarding his future because he had offers from other colleges like Concordia Saint Paul, Minnesota State Mankato, Sioux Falls, Minnesota State University Moorhead, UW-Eau Claire and Winona State University.
In high school, Hornacek played as a defensive back and wide receiver.
In college, he will play as a safety, a change.
Hornacek expressed his gratitude and love for the NDA football program,
“Notre Dame football has helped me to understand the game and to learn how to communicate on the field,” said the senior.
Hornacek’s successes here at NDA will undoubtedly carry over to Minnesota Duluth.
