Notre Dame has been represented well by the success of its fall sports teams this season.
Due to the success, Notre Dame will be hosting multiple postseason games this week.
The Triton football team won their conference championship and received a 2-seed in the playoffs after going 9-0 in the regular season. They will prepare to face the 7-seed Pewaukee Pirates at home on Friday.
Boys soccer finished with a record of 9-10-2, placing them 4th in the conference. They will play their regional semifinal game at home vs Menasha on Tuesday.
Girls volleyball finished 4th in the conference with a record of 15-20. They are set to face Howards Grove at home on Thursday.
Despite being state runner-ups last year, the girls golf season ended in the sectional finals as the team was not able to place high enough to advance.
Last weekend was the girls tennis individual state tournament. The Tritons’ team sent six girls to compete in Madison. They will head back down to Madison next weekend for team state.
Notre Dame’s boys and girls cross country teams have been very successful this season. Recently at the Pulaski meet, the team had a total of 40 PRs. Additionally, senior Joe Hunt broke the school record for the 5k with a time of 15:44. The boys and girls varsity teams will compete at sectionals this week.
Girls swimming will be competing in the conference meet on November 2, and after finishing 7th in the FVA conference, the boys’ volleyball team will begin regional play on Friday with a game at Fond du Lac.
The athletic directors at Notre Dame praised the athletes and coaches for all of their hard work and development so far this season.
“All of the athletes have improved,” noted Athletic Director Matt Koenig. “Championships are icing on the cake, but it doesn’t measure the success and talent of the NDA teams.”
Students, staff, and the NDA community are encouraged to attend some or all of the home playoff games this week.
Mrs. Nichole Hunter, assistant athletic director, said, “We have a great community here at NDA. Our families and supporters are what bring the excitement.”
She continued, “The fact we have an opportunity to host these playoff games is a tribute to the success of our teams and coaches all season.”
Admission for home games is $3 for students and staff with their ID.
