“I was inspired to play football because my dad played at USC and shared the love of the game with me and my brother,” said senior Jack Collins, who recently committed to play football at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Collins made his decision to go to St. Olaf because he and his brother (Christian Collins) went to a Stanford football camp during the summer. There the St. Olaf’s coach saw him and started talking to him about playing at the Minnesota school.
St. Olaf, added Collins, also offers him a great education, which is another reason he chose to go there.
A first team all-conference defensive back, Collins said, “Among the people who really pushed me on the coaching staff were Tony Giovanetti and Chris Francies. Their pre-game talks got me hyped to play.”
The senior said the whole state run impacted his football perspective, bringing him closer to his teammates and showing him what he could do when he pushed himself..
“The biggest challenge in football is the mental side of the game,” said Collins. “It is tough to keep pushing yourself from the weight room to the field.”
Football is not the only sport he plays at NDA; he also plays baseball.
