Two seniors and 40 juniors joined the ranks of National Honor Society on Tuesday night.
The NHS Induction Mass and Ceremony filled the chapel with inductees, current NHS members, parents and staff.
“Your gifts are meant to glorify God,” said Father Jordan Neeck in his homily that challenged students to “offer Him glory by helping others.”
A student choir led by Choir Director Maria Hinnendael contributed greatly to the Mass.
The induction ceremony followed Mass and was initiated by NHS adviser Diane Mulroney who pointed out the four pillars of NHS–leadership, service, character and scholarship. The Spanish teacher reminded NHS members they had the “capacity to transform society.”
Following readings about the four pillars by NHS officers, Principal Andrea Hearden presented certificates of membership to the inductees who were welcomed with spirited applause by current members and those in attendance.
