For the fourth year in a row a Triton sports team donated a morning of service to fulfill a Tritonfest purchase and make a major contribution to their school.
“This is my fourth time to do this,” said senior Andrew Rader, who has spread mulch as a member of both the basketball team and the football team.
This year it was the football boys who spread mulch at the home of NDA English teacher Carolyn Brown.
“The guys are amazing. They bring rakes and shovels and a lot of enthusiasm. We can’t believe how much they accomplish. I’ve spread mulch every year for years, and it always takes me a long time to conquer that truckload. They do it in a couple hours!” said Brown.
Coaches Mike Rader and Tony Giovanetti show up for the event but they let the guys do all the work, enjoy the pizza and brownies, and share time together at the dock.
“Donations like these are great for the students to do at Tritonfest. It shows their dedication to Notre Dame and builds a rapport with those of us who want to support the school,” said Brown’s husband, Michael Brown.
