Senior Keegan Maxfield officially announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to continue his soccer career.
He chose to attend Platteville because it matched what he desired athletically, academically, socially and location-wise.
“Platteville is on the smaller side for a university, which is something I had always wanted from the very beginning,” said Maxfield.
He also enjoys the city of Platteville and its unique location, only four hours away from home, so he can come and visit his family often.
“I will be attending Platteville to study Industrial and Systems Engineering, which is a great blend between business and engineering,” he said.
Business and engineering were two fields he had been on the fence about, and Platteville offers a strong engineering program.
He also appreciated the hands-on approach to learning.
As for athletics, Platteville has had great success in recent years, consistently being ranked in the top 25 with numerous national tournament appearances.
“I think the biggest draw was Platteville’s emphasis on forming a strong team culture, a program where I will not only grow as a player but as a teammate and friend,” said the senior.
He will be playing at the Division 3 level and competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WICA).
He is most looking forward to continuing playing the sport he has grown to love while developing new relationships and preparing for an eventual career.
