Notre Dame Academy hosted its 34th annual President’s Dinner on Wednesday, May 6, recognizing supporters, alumni, donors and leaders in the community with an evening of celebration.
NDA’s President’s Office organized the event. The dinner honored individuals whose leadership and service have made an impact on NDA’s community.
According to Mrs. Joey Rickards, who helped organize the event, the President’s Dinner has been a tradition at Notre Dame Academy since 1992. Over the years, the dinner has been held at various locations, such as St. Norbert College and The Legacy Hotel & Conference Center.
However, this year’s dinner took place at the LedgeCrest Reserve in De Pere and was catered by Runaway Spoon.
The evening began with opening remarks from NDA’s President, Mrs. Amy Ott. She reflected on the accomplishments of the students, staff and the school as a whole this past year. Following her remarks, Fr. Jordan led a prayer before the guests enjoyed dinner and an award ceremony.
This year’s award recipients included Notre Dame Academy and heritage school alumni.
Mrs. Diane Conway received the Founders Award for her dedication and support of NDA. Conway, who served on the early school board of the school, has seen her own children and grandchildren graduate from NDA.
Distinguished Alumni Awards were bestowed upon Eric Novotny (PHS ’88) and Aaron Popkey (APHS ’89) for their achievements and contributions to the community after they graduated.
Novotny, long-time director of maintenance at NDA, and Popkey, now a communications director for the Packers, both had family attending in support.
Also recognized was Mrs. Cecile Faller for her years of service on the NDA Corporate Board.
The President’s Dinner is known as an important tradition at Notre Dame Academy. It celebrates the people whose commitment and leadership strengthen the school, its mission, and values.
