Congratulations to team “All Heart” for winning the three-on-three basketball tournament at De la Baie Fest. 

The team consisting of Owen Atkinson, Owen Hein, Alex Thomas and Leo Weber said they “had to play with all heart to win.” 

The team name was inspired by the influencer Big John Golfs, who says “all heart” at the end of his videos. 

Before the tournament the team had not practiced at all.

The team strategy was to play good defense, give Leo Weber the ball and get rebounds.

“Even if someone missed a shot or made a bad play, everyone had that person’s back,” said Thomas. 

“It meant everything to win this tournament, and specifically it showed a dedication to our hard work,” said Hein. 

The team had great communication and took pride in uplifting each other. 

“We just fought hard and knew that if we got Leo the ball, no one could guard him,” said Thomas. 

The hardest game played by the team was their second against “Mr. N’s Warriors” where they went into a tiebreaker and shot free throws to secure the win.

The rival team had great offense, and it all “went down to the wire,” said Hein. 

“Leo was unreal. He went all out and scored a lot of our points. Owen Hein played well, too,” said Thomas. 

The team wants to extend extra gratitude to Mr. Geiser for putting together this event and creating this experience.
