Senior NDA hockey player Braeden Hart recently finished his high school hockey career with notable honors such as FRCC player of the year and all state recognition.
“I am super grateful to be recognized for these honors… it was super rewarding to see my name next to those accomplishments,” said Hart, who captained the team.
Hart’s hockey journey started early, at only 4 years old.
“My dad and older brother both played hockey at the time, so I was just kind of following in their footsteps,” he explained.
Throughout Hart’s hockey career, he has made many lasting memories, such as winning a state championship his sophomore year.
“I will never forget playing in front of a sold-out rink my junior year in the sectional final,” he recalled.
While his accomplishments are significant, Hart emphasized that the relationships he has made along the way are of great importance, and his teammates and coaches truly made his time with the NDA hockey program so memorable.
He also expresses gratitude toward his fellow seniors on the team–Ian Aitken, Owen Atkinson and Henry Tressler– for their support.
Hart gives credit to his family as his biggest inspiration.
“I will forever be grateful for how much they pushed me to be the best I can be on and off the ice,” Hart shared.
Looking forward, Hart plans to continue his hockey career by playing junior hockey. His ultimate goal is to compete at a collegiate level.
Highlighting the success of Hart’s teammates, Aitken and Tripp Wroblewski both earned first team all-conference honor along with Ty Schmitz who received second team all-conference and Atkinson who received an honorable mention in the FRCC.
As for the future of NDA hockey, Hart is optimistic.
“We all have high hopes for the team… they have the chance to be very successful once again,” he said.
