Academy Awards is and has been an absolutely amazing experience for anyone who has come to watch it and support their friends. But it’s just as wonderful behind the scenes as it is from the audience.
When I helped out with the set-up for Academy Awards, I had a great time with friends and seeing all the moving parts for the show. Just knowing the effort and time everyone who was a part of the show put into it really made it even more special than it already was. I love seeing the moving pieces in any and all types of performances.
It’s so cool to see how ours and others’ favorite moments come to life. Whether you are a part of the technical crew, like me, which is awesome by the way, or you are a rampateer, judge or contestant too, it is so great to have a role in producing a show.
Getting to bring joy to others while having a good time is something I particularly love about Academy Awards, and I really want others to feel the same way and have pride in something they have contributed to.
I would like to challenge any students reading this, regardless of your knowledge or experience in performance, to try being a rampateer, or to keep your name in the voting list and become a contestant in the following years. Even assisting a friend in an act of theirs would be a great experience and learning opportunity.
I just would just like to share the joy and experience gained from participating with others to achieve something great. Even if it’s just a small role, it’s valuable in the grand scheme and to yourself. This isn’t something you’ll regret, so have fun.
