Seela Raj, Bella Zent Will Be Featured on Fox 11 ‘Best of the Class’
April 12, 2019
Every year, Fox 11 works with the Packers, and a plethora of other well-known companies to produce a graduation special called “Best of the Class.” It’s a prestigious award presented only to the top ten of select schools.
This year the invitation was offered to NDA’s top 12 in the class of 2019.
While some of the class standouts declined due to IB exams, Bella Zent and Seela Raj both accepted the television station’s invitation and will participate in multiple activities as a result.
Seela Raj talked about her knowledge of this award ceremony.
“It is really an honor to be able to participate. I actually had heard of the event before I was invited. When I was younger, I watched Fox 11 news every morning, so I saw the ‘Best of the Class’ segment for many years. Therefore, it was an honor for me to be invited to be a part of it,” she said.
The ceremony includes a lot of fun for all of the participants.
College Counselor Becky Bain explained, “There are tours of Lambeau, there is food, there are events and there is a ceremony with all students dressed in their graduating caps & gowns.”
Fox 11 will also be taping each student for a series of television vignettes that’ll be found online and played on the station.
“They are videotaping us in order to show the segment on the news,” said Bella Zent. “I have no idea what they will be asking us about, so I’m slightly nervous about that.”
NDA has been a part of this event for over five years, according to Bain.
“I’ve been sending students to this event as long as I’ve been here, which is five years. I know Mrs. Abler sent students before me. Some of the previous participants included Kate Stumpf in 2018 and Thomas Shade in 2019,” said the counselor.
Zent is looking forward to the ceremony “because Seela and I have put in a lot of hard work over the last four years, and this is a celebration for everyone, including us. It’s truly an honor to be invited to this event.”
For her part, Raj added, “I want to thank Bella Zent for being my other half since freshman year and for pushing me to do my best academically throughout my high school career. I am so proud of what Bella and I have achieved.”
