NDA’s annual “Fall Fest” week kicked off this past Monday, starting five days of games, service, fundraising and fun, all culminating with the Fall Fest dance on Saturday, Oct 12.

“I like seeing everything come together.  We’ve spent a lot of time putting this week together

and seeing everyone enjoying it is really special,” said NDA’s student body president Max Timmer.

All funds raised from this year’s festivities will be sent to Jamaica through the International Samaritan program, a worldwide nonprofit organization that focuses on poverty alleviation in the developing world.

A team of NDA students traveled to Riverton City, Jamaica, this past summer, and all

funds raised over the course of Fall Fest Week and Spring Week will be used to continue the ministry work started then.

Students have the opportunity to partake in themed dress-down days throughout the Fall Fest week, can donate money to various staff members to have them “pied in the face” and participate in The Great Battle, a student competition on Friday.

“It is a week of fun and a focus on service, which are indeed two great things,” said Jen Laakson

en, lead adviser to Student Government.
