Fr. Jordan Organizing Leadership Retreat to Colorado This Summer
February 15, 2020
This summer, men from Notre Dame Academy, St. Norbert College and the greater Green Bay community will embark on a leadership retreat in Allenspark, Colorado.
The trip, coordinated through CLR Ministries in Colorado, will be run by Mr. Jim VandeHey, Ms. Jane VandenBoogart, Fr. Mike Brennan O. Praem, and Notre Dame’s own Fr. Jordan Neeck O. Praem.
“Our ultimate plan is to build strong Christian men who will be strong in virtue and faith to become future leaders in business, family, faith, and local communities,” said Fr. Jordan.
From June 6-14, the group plans on building community through hiking the Rockies, participating in group challenges, praying and celebrating Mass.
“If any young man is struggling with his vocation, faith, relationships, or self, this trip is meant to help the individual hear God’s voice while also being supported by a band of brothers…‘iron sharpening iron,’” continued Fr. Jordan.
CLR Ministries has a long history of providing faith-oriented leadership opportunities in the Rocky Mountains, with the goal to “build disciples who become leaders and bring others to Jesus.”
“CLR Ministries has done similar retreats in the past with teens from the Fox Valley, but this experience is going to be a bit new with a focus on men’s leadership development. We’re hoping to have men from both St. Norbert College and Notre Dame Academy, but any male [14-23 years old] is welcome to join…,” explained Fr. Jordan.
The total cost of the trip is $950 per person, but considerable financial assistance options are available.
Included with the fee, a paper application is required to be accepted, in which the applicant must complete a short, 1-2 page autobiography about himself and his faith.
The trip’s first meeting will be held on February 29, followed by Mass at 4 p.m. (location tbd).
Meetings are mandatory and will give the information and training needed to succeed while in Colorado.
