Twenty-three NDA students and four chaperones will head to Washington D.C. Wednesday afternoon to participate in the annual March for Life that advocates for the end of abortion.
Organized through Pro-Life Wisconsin, the trip will be by bus with students and chaperones from Xavier High School.
The national event will take place Friday, January 24, and follow a route from the Washington Monument to Capitol Hill. Students will return Sunday morning.
Father Jordan Neeck, one of the chaperones, will be participating in his first March for Life, but religion teacher Joan Cinotti has made the trip several times.
Freshman Autumn Aschinger explained why she decided to make the trip.
“I’ve wanted to attend the March for Life ever since I found out about it in fifth or sixth grade. I’ve always been heavily pro-life since as far as I can remember. I jumped at the opportunity of being able to finally do something more for the movement.”
Likewise, senior Mia Miller decided to go because she had “heard a lot about the trip from people who got to go in past years, and I wanted to go for my last year at NDA.”
The Tritons will be staying near the White House and look forward to not only marching in the event but also doing some sightseeing, such as visiting the Holocaust Museum and possibly touring the Capitol.
Other students making the trip are Dereck Aguilar, Tanner Bentivegna, Irene Ertman, Lorenzo Farone, Nick Fogarty, Kinsey Gallagher, Reagan Gosa, Joe Hunt, Tessa Isaacson, Kailyn Kline, Giselle Malta-Ortiz, Anna Miller, Leo Muller, Dafnee Ortiz, Marshall Pahl, Lillanna Poehlmann, Owen Prosser, Oakley Prosser, Gabe Stoik, Monika Stoik and Eli Weiss.
Dr. and Mrs. Scott Hunt will also serve as chaperones.
