Mya Kapalko to Play Volleyball at Wisconsin Lutheran
October 18, 2022
Senior Mya Kapalko recently committed to play college volleyball at Wisconsin Lutheran.
Kapalko has been playing volleyball for over 10 years and has enjoyed growing up in the sport.
“I enjoy playing the sport itself and seeing the validation of the score, but I also know that even if the score doesn’t always reflect a win, that doesn’t mean you didn’t put in a lot of work,” she said.
Wisconsin Lutheran is an NCAA division three school just outside of Milwaukee and plays in the NACC conference along with St. Norbert College and Lakeland University.
“I chose Wisconsin Lutheran after talking with the coach and being able to experience the athletic and academic side of things. I was able to visit the campus multiple times and enjoyed the coaches and teachers and the ability they had to help set up future internships,” she said.
The Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors are underway in their season and have a record of 8 and 8 going into their game Tuesday night against Concordia.
The Tritons also play Tuesday night against the Denmark Vikings in the first round of post-season playoffs.
The Tritons have had a decent season, going 7-3 in conference, and are now making their move to the golden ball with state being in just two weeks.
Kapalko, one of the captains this year, is hoping to lead their team to a final Triton victory.
