Senior Drew Siudzinski will be playing baseball with the Green Bay Blue Ribbons post NDA before he continues his baseball journey at UW-LaCrosse.
Siudzinski heard about the team from his dad, who played on the team after he had graduated high school.
“When searching for a summer team to play on I already knew about them and was interested in the program,” he added.
He also had known of a few friends that had played on the team before, and they told him it was a great experience.
“The Ribbons head manager reached out to me, and after a long call he offered me a spot on the team this summer,” he said.
After considering his options, he officially signed with the Ribbons a week later.
He hopes that this experience will allow him to grow his talent and love for the game as well as the experience with his teammates.
“I will be playing with other current and past college baseball players, which will get me ready as I head into college next year to compete for a spot at UW-LaCrosse,” said Siudzinski.
This will be the highest level of competition he has played at, but he is excited for the challenge and is ready to compete.
His schedule is described as “50 games in 60 days,” which means there won’t be a lot of practice time. Their home games are played at Joannes Park on the east side of Green Bay.
The Blue Ribbons are a part of the NEWBL (Northeast Wisconsin Baseball League), which includes five other teams: Kewaskum A’s, Sheboygan A’s, Menasha Macs, Appleton Legends and Greenville Stars.
“There will also be teams we play from other leagues around the state and out-of-state, which is similar to non-conference,” added the senior.
