Sleep in Heavenly Peace: Making Beds for Children

Sleep+in+Heavenly+Peace%3A++Making+Beds+for+Children

Up to three percent of children nationwide do not have a bed to sleep in and one in 12 parents say that their children are tired all of the time due to no bed.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a great opportunity to help out some of these children.

Each time you attend a Sleep in Heavenly Peace session you can help make over 100 beds for children in need, and you can also make or donate blankets or pillows.

I have had the opportunity to attend a few of these sessions. When you attend, you have the opportunity to work at different stations. You can sand the wood, assemble the parts, and others.

You do not need to bring anything to these sessions as the things needed will be provided. The coordinators are also kind enough to set up a snack station in case you need a break.

After learning about how many children do not have beds to sleep in, I felt inclined to go help. Learning this made me appreciate the things I am lucky enough to have.

If you are currently in school and need service hours, SHP is a great opportunity to earn some while still having fun.
