“The best part about leading the band has to be listening to the band’s volume just scream out to the audience.  It gives me goosebumps every time,” said senior Kevin Angoa-Montero.

Angola-Montero is the Head Drum Major of the NDA band and led the band during the Green Bay Christmas Parade.

“Leading the band for the first time in the Christmas parade might have to be my favorite NDA band experience because it was on the news and in front of a lot of people,” said Angoa-Montero.

The Head Drum Major  is assisted by assistant drum majors Adam Nienow and Joshua Metzentine.

Angoa-Montero plays the alto saxophone and the tenor saxophone while Nienow plays the clarinet and Metzentine plays percussion.

Nienow and Metzinetine were picked by last year’s seniors, but Angoa-Montero was selected by band director Mr. Johnson.

“Mr. Johnson came up to me personally and asked me if I was up for it, and I said yes,” Angoa-Montero said.

“I would consider playing in college, for example a pep band or even an ensemble. Music is cool to have in our lives,” Angoa-Montero said.
