Sydney Whitehouse is a versatile student athlete. In her last year as a Triton she has participated in five school sports: volleyball, basketball, track, lacrosse and trap.
Throughout Whitehouse’s high school career her main sports were volleyball, basketball and track.
“What I love most about all the sports I play are the people and the culture built around them,” said Whitehouse.
In the spring of her earlier high school career and dating back to her elementary school years Whitehouse participated in club basketball for an AAU program called the Purple Aces.
During her sports involvement Whitehouse has won four state championships– three in basketball and one in track.
“I want to strive from those who doubt me or those who are better than me,” said Whitehouse about her motivation to be so involved sportswise.
Beyond high school athletics, Whitehouse has roles in not only the Trap Club but also the Baking Club.
“My whole life I have always been doing something. I love being busy,” said the senior.
Whitehouse is set to attend Northern Michigan University where she will major in biology and play basketball on scholarship.
“Sports at NDA has taught me that everyone has a role. Everyone’s role is different, but together we make up one team and represent our school,” she said.
