Wednesday, in front of a large crowd of classmates, parents and school representatives,  eight NDA seniors signed letters of intent to play a college sport.

In the words of Athletic Director Matt Koenig, “These individuals have brought so much to our hallways in terms of being hard-working and showing leadership.” He then went on to point out the state championships won, the state runner-up teams played on, all-conference awards won and the school records broken by their achievements.

Signees included Adam Brada, who will play soccer at Coe College; Braedon Curtin, football at Carroll University; Carlene Goral, soccer at St. Norbert College; Connor Handrick, soccer at Coe College; Sarah Hardwick, basketball at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh; Cadence Maxfield, volleyball at Berry College; Maggie Thillman, soccer at Milwaukee School of Engineering; and Belle Mae Williams, golf at St. Olaf College.

Principal Patrick Browne applauded the athletes for their academic achievements as well as their athletic ones.

“You have worked extremely hard over the past four years, and I dare say that if we were to look at the GPAs of these students, we would know you have all exemplified the term ‘Student-Athlete,’” said the principal.  “It has been a pleasure seeing you compete, and I appreciate the fact that you brought a great deal of joy to the school generally and me personally.  I wish the very best for each of you and hope that you will continue to embody the characteristics you have during your time at Notre Dame.”
