The Academy Ball is back this year and better than ever.

The Academy Ball and other traditional NDA events have been stalled or canceled the last two years due to Covid-19 protocols.

This year, however, a lot of those events are coming back and the student body is excited.

“I am very excited for the Academy Ball because we haven’t been able to experience a lot of the traditions of NDA due to the pandemic. I am looking forward to spending time with friends, dancing, and sharing a classic high school memory with others,” said senior Greta Sternig.

The junior and senior classes recently had a meeting to go over the details of the event.

The Academy Ball is May 7 at the Tundra Lodge.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and food, heavy appetizers served buffet style, will be made available at 7 p.m.

A variety of seating will be available to allow the students to get up and walk around as they please.

The dance will begin at 8:15 p.m. and end at 11:30 p.m.

In order to have a safe and enjoyable dance, the organizers have set a couple of rules and given a few recommendations.

No bags are allowed at the dance, but there will be a valuables check available.

Gentlemen are recommended to put a tag in their jacket with their name to ensure that it doesn’t get stolen.

Ladies are recommended to put their name on the bottom of their heels as well.

The Academy Ball is coming near and tickets are on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased in-person during lunches with cash or check.

A new option to buy tickets online is also available this year, and details were sent out in an email.

The cost of tickets is $30 for NDA students and $35 for guests.

Guests can only attend the Academy Ball if the guest pass and liability form were filled out and sent in before April 20.

The organizers of the event, Student Government advisers, encourage all students to attend and enjoy the fun night that has been arranged for them.

“It’s just a great time for everyone to get together and have fun,” said Frau.
