What NBA Teams Could Challenge Golden State Warriors?

The Golden State Warriors are 44-14 and the strongest contenders in the Western Conference this season. With four All-Star players (Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson,) Golden State is the best team in the West and will make the NBA finals for the fourth season in a row.

What NBA team in the Eastern Conference poses the biggest threat to Golden State? Here are four teams, in order, that have the best chance at beating the Warriors:

  1.  Boston Celtics

Boston is 40-19 this season and have dominated with the additions of Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum.  Against Golden State this year, Boston is 1-1 with both games resulting in only a four-point difference. When healthy, Boston poses a major threat to the Warriors’ chances at another title.

Toronto is 41-16 this season. With the leadership in the front court of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry and the dominance in the paint by Jonas Valančiūnas, the Raptors have been a force Even though Toronto is 0-2 against Golden State this season, the Raptors have won all of their last seven games.

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland is 34-22 this season, having made moves to obtain youth and hustle. With the additions of Rodney Hood, George Hill, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr., the Cavs add youth to compliment star Lebron James. The Cavs are 0-2 against the Warriors this season.

Milwaukee, 32-25 this season, has been gradually improving and becoming a big contender in the East. With new coach, Joe Prunty, and the return of Jabari Parker, the Bucks are a threat. MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a breakout season. The Bucks are 0-1 against the Warriors this season.
