IB Coordinator Matthew Schultz, who wears many hats here at Notre Dame Academy, also has a unique love story.

Schultz met his wife during his senior year of college at a graduation party.

Through a mutual friend, they began talking and Schultz instantly realized that they “complimented each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”

As a result of connecting on multiple levels, they decided to make it official on August 3, 2003.

Schultz knew she was the one, ultimately, by her saying, “Yes,” which stands as a good indicator.

Schultz’s favorite memory of his wife happens to be the day he first met her.

“To this day I can remember what she was wearing and how she seemed to glow in the middle of the room. I was smitten right away,” Schultz said.

Since their marriage in 2003, they have been blessed with three boys: Issac, Elijah and Emmett.

Their free time is centered primarily around their children.

“They are all very active in several things including multiple sports, scouting, playing instruments and Lego Club,” Schultz said.

They have had to give up many joys due to their children, including pets. “

We frankly wouldn’t be home enough to take care of them,” Schultz said.

Schultz’s boys love baseball the most, which promotes most of their traveling. Not so ironically, baseball seems to be a sport loved by their father.  After all, he played it, coached it and now decorates his office with Chicago Cubs paraphernalia.

The Schultz family took a trip to Disney last summer, and they hope to visit the Grand Canyon either this summer or the next.

“It all depends on baseball scenarios,” Schultz said.
