Students are taking the stage in more than one way, as they will be leading–for the second time in two years– the traditional spring play.
Director of Activities Jen Laaksonen advises the student production and will once again invite staff to supervise–not direct–student rehearsals and performances.
The student director of this year’s spring play is senior Caroline Broberg, who has a plethora of theater experience at NDA. Following two days of auditions, the cast was announced February 12 and is listed at the end of this article.
“I am incredibly honored to take this challenge on,” said Broberg, who was selected by a panel of students as the director.
The play will be Alice in Wonderland and will be staged on April 17-18.
Auditions for the play will take place on February 10 during 8th hour and February 11 at 3:30 in the auditorium; all are welcome.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with everyone and bring NDA a great show,” said Broberg.
More seniors are involved with bringing this production to life, like Jordan Johnson, the treasurer, who is in charge of budgeting and marketing.
Ngoclam Nguyen is the stage manager, Cecilia Ortega is in charge of scheduling, Ana Inciarte is head of costumes, and Tinamarie Coronado is responsible for hair and makeup.
“I like doing hair and makeup because it allows me to be a part of a fun community and do something I am passionate about,” said Coronado.
Rehearsals will take place Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. after school.
“I hope the audience sees that the world is full of whimsical, wonderful people who will help you along the way,” said Broberg when discussing the choice of Alice in Wonderland.

Jim Vandenberg Premontre HS Class of '65.. • Feb 27, 2026 at 3:19 pm
Many years ago, as a senior at Premontre in 1965, I had a part in Finian’s Rainbow. That was clearly the highlight of my Premontre HS experience. It was put on by Fr. Guy Guyon and Tom Netzel. We bonded as a mixed group of students from the Green Bay area high schools, got a great professional review in the Press-Gazette, and sold out four weekends of performances. Lead performers Jim Scovill and Lee Ann Riopelle eventurally married after HS and parented a wonderful family. Jim passed away several years ago. Lee Ann sings at St. Mary of the Angels church. Wishing all NDA acting participants the best in their peforming endeavors!!! Jim Vandenberg
