Nick Bumgardner, Editor-in-Chief, Online Tritonian

Preview Night is an annual open-house event for seventh and eighth-grade families interested in learning more about Notre Dame Academy.

This year, it will be returning to an in-person format, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 4, from 5:15-7:30 p.m.

“Preview Night is a great opportunity for students to get an in-person experience of what is like to be an NDA Triton,” said Sarah VanGrunsven and Molly VandenHouten, the coordinators of the event.

“The impact of in-person events is vital to the enrollment of our school…The planning…begins in August and entails a great deal of coordination with speakers, promoting the event, facilities and student volunteers,” the admission directors added.

Doors will open at 5:15 for registration in the atrium.

An athletics and clubs fair run by coaches and club moderators will be set up in the Triton Center all night.

Information will be available on NDA’s many sports and student organizations and representatives will be there to answer any questions.

To start the night, President Tom Kiely and Principal Patrick Browne will offer a tag-teamed welcome message and school introduction in the auditorium at 5:45.

Following that, Browne and VanGrunsven will lead an academic and admissions presentation from 6:00-6:30 p.m.

Here, families can learn about NDA’s college prep curriculum, including its International Baccalaureate (IB), college credit, honors, traditional, and Aquinas Scholars programs.

Next, families are invited to attend the financial aid presentation from 6:30-6:50 p.m.

This presentation will discuss NDA’s many options for tuition assistance and will be presented by Kiely, Ken Flaten, Executive Director of Finance and Business Operations, and Karen Konop, Director of External Programs.

To cap off the event, Matthew Schultz, IB Coordinator, will lead a presentation detailing NDA’s IB program, starting at 7:00 p.m.

In addition, student-led tours will be offered all night long and the school store will be open in the commons to purchase NDA gear.
