NDA will be hosting an alumni  tailgate before Friday’s varsity football game, and the 2022 inductees into the Triton Academic & Athletic Hall of Fame will be introduced during halftime.

The tailgate will take place from 5-7 p.m. in the commons before the varsity football game against Preble.  Hall of Fame Inductees and their families, along with alumni, are all invited to attend.

In traditional Green Bay fashion, hamburgers and brats will be served and around 100 people are currently signed up to attend.  Attendees will get to see old students, coaches and teachers, which will make for a night of reunions.

“I am looking forward to connecting with alums, parents and students. I hope to hear awesome success stories as students have gone forth to share their gifts and talents God has sent into their lives,” said inductee Sr. Pat Clement.

Veteran English teacher Carolyn Brown is looking forward to seeing former students.  “I saw Addie Weiss’s mom and told her I was excited to see their state championship basketball team was among those being honored with induction to the Hall of Fame.”

“No doubt I will enjoy seeing others at the tailgate and game,” she added.

This year’s inductees are from both the academic and athletic divisions. They include:

Academic Division

Humanitarian: Rev. Dr. Fr. Jack MacCarthy, O. Praem., PHS 1962

Faculty/Staff/Friend: Sr. Pat Clement, CSJ, SJA 1963

Business: Paul Gigot, APHS 1973

Ministry: Fr. Gordon Gilsdorf

Education: Ann Hollenback

Athletic Division

Ken Bauer, PHS 1980

Brian Stock, PHS 1988

Andrew Ribeiro, NDA 2009

PHS Boys Cross Country 1982 and 1983 – Team

APHS Boys Basketball 1990 – Team

NDA Girls Basketball 2001 – Team

Curt Moore, PHS 1974 – Coach

Ted Fritsch, Sr. – Coach

During halftime, each inductee will be introduced and walk on the field. Sadly, not all of the inductees are able to attend. Two have passed away and another lives out of state.

For those that are present, the official induction ceremony and luncheon will take place at noon at St. Norbert College. Mrs. Hearden and President Kiely will make a few remarks about the Hall of Fame, and Fr. Jordan will lead the opening prayer, followed by lunch. They will then be introduced and presented with their award and be invited to make a speech.

The Triton Academic & Athletic Hall of Fame is a recent addition to NDA as a way to honor past alumni.

“The Triton Academic & Athletic Hall of Fame NDA was started in 2018 to honor people associated with NDA or a predecessor school for their athletic achievements or their academic (and post-NDA) accomplishments,” said Mrs. Claire Teitz,  associate director of development at NDA.

In order to be inducted, you must be an alumni, coach or team 10 years after graduation from NDA or a legacy school (St. Joseph Academy, St. Norbert High School, Central Catholic High School, Premontre High School, and Abbot Pennings High School).

Anyone can nominate an individual or team of their choosing (there is a link on the NDA website) for the Hall of Fame. There are multiple categories within Athletics: Individual Athlete, State Title Team, or Legendary Coach, along with the Academic categories: Education, Science, the Arts, Ministry, Military Service, Humanitarian, Education, and Business.

A committee votes each year on who will be inducted.
