On Saturday, September 30, Notre Dame Academy’s alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at St. Norbert College.

The ceremony was designed to honor the outstanding graduates of NDA, as well as the predecessor schools St. Joseph’s Academy, Premontre and Abbot Pennings.

What I like about the Hall of Fame is how it acknowledges both high school and post-high school achievements,” shared Eliza Campbell, NDA’s alumni coordinator. “It is a cool opportunity for our school to show our appreciation to the individuals that represent our school.”

There are three divisions to the Hall of Fame: academics, athletics and legends. This year twelve individuals and two teams are receiving this honor.

This year’s academic inductees are Tom Lemorande, Mary Silverberg, Jane Schueller, Kristin Crowley and Harry Geiser.

The academic inductees are Ted Fritsch Jr, Greg Knafelc, Paul Denny, Rebecca Giddens, Amy MacCarthy and Jenny McSherry.

The legends inductees are Premontre’s 1982 boys basketball team, NDA’s 2001 boys soccer team, Coach Sandra Freres and Coach John Nowak, the father of current faculty member Chris Nowak.

“When we found out, it was great to hear. My father put so much time and effort into his coaching and teaching and affected so many lives that it is always nice to hear when his hard work paid off,” shared Nowak. “I know, though, he never did any of this for any accolades but because he just loved coaching and helping out his athletes.”

Admission to the Hall of Fame inductions banquet is free to inductees and one guest, and fifty dollars for all other tickets, which includes food.
